Copyright © 2014 - batamnews.co.id All rights reserved Managed and Developed By : PT.Batam Media CyberThe West Singkep Police Chief led a press conference for the arrest of the suspect in the steel theft of the Marok Tua Village bridge project.(Photo: special)Lingga, Batamnews - A man with the initials AN, a resident of Marok Tua Village, West Singkep District, Lingga Regency, was arrested by the Singkep Police Satreskrim unit on suspicion of stealing building materials in the form of steel from a bridge construction project site in Marok Tua Village.West Singkep Police Chief AKP Bakri said the arrest of the perpetrator was based on a report received by the West Singkep Police.The perpetrator was arrested on October 3, 2022 at around 14.26 WIB while in Dabo Singkep and immediately taken to the West Singkep Police."From the perpetrator's statement, on September 28, 2022, he took 5 Bracket Top Bracing and 2 Splice Flange made of steel at the Marok Tua Village bridge project site alone," said AKP Bakri accompanied by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Singkep Police Brigadier Deswardi Lubis during a press conference in West Singkep Police Headquarters, Thursday (13/10/2022).The police chief said that based on the confession, the perpetrator had intended to steal iron at the site of the Marok Tua Village bridge construction project on Saturday, September 24, 2022, when the perpetrator had taken his sick child to the Puskesmas Raya.Also read: 175 Participants Take the Written Test of Candidates for the 2024 Election Paswascam in Lingga, only 39 people are needed"When the perpetrator returned from the Puskesmas, the perpetrator passed the location of the bridge construction project. There the perpetrator saw a pile of iron beside the road, then on September 27, 2022 at around 10:00 WIB the perpetrator intended to take the iron because the perpetrator had a debt to pay. ," said AKP Bakri.The next day, on September 28, 2022 at around 04.00 WIB, the perpetrator carried out the action from the perpetrator's house using a boat to come to the site of the bridge construction project to steal the steel that was his target."There the perpetrators lifted the Top Bracing Brackets and Splice Flange made of steel one by one and brought them to the bushes near the front of the tower not far from the location about 150 meters," he explained.After moving and collecting steel in a place not far from the bridge project site, the perpetrator returned home, and on the same day at around 09.00 WIB the perpetrator again visited the location where the steel was stored which he took from the construction project site, this time his arrival was to transport and sell the iron.Also read: Immigration Dabo Singkep: Not all applicants can apply for a passport with a validity period of 10 years"The steel that has been taken by the perpetrators are 4 Bracket Top Bracing and 2 Splice Flange. The perpetrator admitted that he sold the iron to an iron container in Dabo Singkep, the money that the perpetrator got from selling the iron was Rp 470 thousand," he said.To the police, the perpetrator admitted that he used the money from selling steel for Rp. 470 thousand to pay a debt of Rp. 120 thousand, then he gave it to his wife for Rp. 200 thousand, the rest for shopping of Rp. 150 thousand.The West Singkep Police Criminal Investigation Unit managed to secure one Bracket Top Bracing made of steel which the perpetrators had not sold at the location where the perpetrators stored and collected steel they had taken from the construction site of the Marok Tua Village bridge."The perpetrator's actions have fulfilled the criminal element of theft by weighting, the article applied for in Article 363 Paragraph 1 Sub 3 in conjunction with Article 362 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 7 years," concluded the West Singkep Police Chief.Copyright © batamnews.co.id All rights reserved Managed and Developed By : PT.Batam Media Cyber
